Apart from being brilliant fun there are some great learning outcomes! Watch as two friends work together to solve a problem. They use their imagination to come up with possible solutions and ask for help if they get stuck!
This all forms a great basis for an assembly. With the summer holidays fast approaching, children are often bored and that's after just two weeks! So why not set them a challenge!
As part of an assembly to your whole school or in classes:
- Share an episode or two of Fred & Pete's Treasure Tales.
- Set a challenge of finding something that is treasure or just something that is run of the mill.
- Encourage children to use their imaginations to tell the story behind their found object.
- They could use their imaginations to adapt or add to their found object to make it something really special and personal.
- Fred & Pete always make drawings of what they find and children can do this too. Alternatively, they could take photos of their treasure, a video, write a narrative or draw a picture of their treasure.
This is also a great opportunity for talking about how to stay SAFE!
